April 27, 2011. Shanghai Campus -- The 27 students that make up the first class of the Business @ AB InBev programme graduated today at CEIBS. In true AB InBev style, the graduation ceremony was not limited to speeches and the handing out of diplomas, but also including the awarding of prizes, a video presentation and a lot of great beer!

 The programme, tailor-made for AB InBev talents, consisted of six modules that ran from April 1 to December 18, 2010. Participants included executives from different functions and locations within AB InBev China. The topics covered in each module were: high performance leadership, financial understanding for performance management, marketing management, supply chain management, sales, channel & commercial Management and competitive strategy. Each module offered a mixture of different teaching methods: lectures, case analysis and discussion or presentations from AB InBev. Lectures were taught by CEIBS Professors Howard Ward, Anthony James, Robert F. Lauterbarn, Philip Huang, Wang Gao and Per Jenster.

Today, in opening the graduation ceremony, AB InBev APAC University Dean Miguel Patricio told the students how happy he was for this CEIBS course to take place. “The most fulfilling part of my job is learning in a classroom and sharing knowledge,” he said. Speaking specifically on the issue of leadership, he stressed that a great leader is one who achieves results in the right way, and builds a good team without forgetting the importance of providing valuable feedback to team members. Mr. Patricio also reminded students that, in addition to expanding their knowledge base, their experience at CEIBS had also provided a valuable opportunity to network within the company. With a last word of congratulations to the day’s graduates, Mr. Patricio thanked CEIBS for helping AB InBev prepare the company’s future leaders.
